Error 101

Burning man 2018, NV, USA

We are working on the engineering of a complex parametrically developed timber structure as part of the competition for Burning man 2018 festival. The geometry of “Error 101” is generated through a combination of fractal mathematics properties, parametric design tools and finally a computer error. The artwork will be made out of ‘chaotically’ arranged timber ribbons that, together, form a tetrahedron. Define Engineers is also involved in the material selection, prototyping and fabrication research including detailing of assembly and support connections.
